The robbers are wearing suits
Remember the old cartoons when you would see a bandit with a mask and he was already wearing the black and white stripes of prison.
I hate to break it to you, but the biggest thieves nowadays wear suits and the mask, well that would be our national digital media hiding the truth behind their actions.
Bernie Madoff wore nice suits. So does JP Morgan’s Jamie Dimon ( See also New York Federal Reserve where he sits as well).
Both of these clowns are worse than any bank robber who holds up a local or community bank. The difference is that no one will go on talk radio or TV and explain that the economy needs people to steal other people’s money or lose other people’s money for the economy to survive. No one will argue that a bank robber needs to make the most money possible nor that there should be no regulations on massive withdrawals of other people’s savings accounts or retirement accounts…unless they do it while wearing $2,000 suits.
Now don’t get me wrong, suits do not steal, men with low morals do.
Low Morals and high-brow attitudes often do go together like Rolex and diamonds.
So let’s review: We have men who get to play with other people’s money without the consumer protections found at most Casinos. We elevate them to the Gods of Wall Street and let them argue that their industry is fine with them policing it themselves, and them creating magical pixie dust bets to the tune of $60 Trillion worldwide. And that these derivative gambles are not a reason for regulation despite the 2008 crash, CEO bonuses, CEO parachutes for failure, and that we should also allow them to handle our social security funds while we are at it.
And oh yes, and we should let them make the most profits in the history of most Fortune 500 companies while employing the least amount of people possible. Yep. Now that takes talent. that takes gall.
You see there is nothing wrong with being born with a silver spoon in your mouth but if you use that spoon to take cereal out of someone’s else’s bowl, then you are not being lucky or a great business mind, you are being a crook and using your advantage to disadvantage someone else.
You can call it capitalism but Capitalism can not be blamed for this. The blame is greed and creepy thieves and a Congress that will use the silver spoons they have been given to bury us all while they dine with the suits and let them eat the best America offers on its plate.
You see Wall Street is currently designed to keep the American people from seeing what really goes on behind those walls. It should be rebuilt to wall up all the thieves who depend on losing the American’s people money to make their own.
