Dear Felizbina,

It seems one of my friends will say anything, do anything and hide things so that he looks right even when everyone knows he is wrong. At times, I am amazed that he is unaware of his own inability to be straight with the people around him.

He comes off a nice guy, very caring, but now I don’t know whether I should just stop dealing with him altogether or just accept that he lies.

Dear Phillip,
It all depends. If he is a politician then that is what they do. If he is not a politician, let’s hope he is not a policeman, a journalist, your lover,  a doctor or anyone where there is an expectation of honesty and morality. But let’s be straight, I would be lying to you if I said I did not ever lie. I know of no human who has never lied. Lying is part of the weakness of man. It really comes down to your own preferences. Do you want someone around you who lies?
Do you want to be associated with someone who lies?
Do you want to be a victim of lies?
Some people don’t mind a little fat on their steak and others can’t deal with it.
It all comes down to your tastes.
Remember you can’t pick your family but you can pick your friends. Good luck.
